Fraternity Recruitment

Fall 2012 Recruitment Schedule | Registration & Fees | Online Registration Form

Fellow Bobcats,

With the beginning of a new school year brings about prospects of the future and the intentions  of improvement.  The Texas State Greek Community offers an experience that only comes around once in a  lifetime.  The eternal brotherhood, the lifetime of friendship, and the superior college experience; Going greek offers the gateway to involvement, ranging from the Associated Student Government, the Student Foundation, The Student Organizations Council, Order of Omega, Gamma, and countless other organizations.  Fraternity leaders strive to be the best in every field of study and activity.  Through extensive scholarship plans both new members and actives may benefit in academic success through study hours and numerous brothers to recieve guidance from.  After all, academics are the most important aspect of each fraternity on campus and the primary purpose for attending a university being to further one's education.

Philanthropy is another major component in Texas State's fraternity system.  With Greeks, community service and philanthropy are a major component of how fraternity life is represented here in the San Marcos community. Each fraternity has numerous organizations that they work with that assist in creating a better community locally as well as helping charities worldwide. Being in a fraternity not only offers you the opportunity to build your character, it also gives you access to infinite networking opportunities in every field of study and extra-cirricular activity.

A little healthy competition never hurt anybody and thats where intramural sports come in.  Greek life offers intramural competition in sports such as football, soccer, basketball, softball, and dodgeball, all of these include co-ed competition with fraternity-sorority sports teams.  This is a great way  to signify greek unity and relations both on and off the field.  While we strive to better both the Texas State campus and the San Marcos community on a daily basis, this does not prohibit us from participating in various social activities, including; fraternity and sorority date parties, mixers, formals, and many others.  This builds relationships that will leave lasting college memories that you will carry on for the rest of your life.

I highly encourage all of you to consider this great experience that will change your life!
